Tienskip

Tienskip is a Frysian organisation that involves young people with local democracy. Currently it is active in 6 provinces and involves 10.000 young people annually. By organising events, where high school and secondary vocational education students dive into the local issues and challenges they find important, they experience everyday democracy in a very practical way. At the end of our events, all the participants have developed a solution for the issues they addressed beforehand. For some young people, the experience stops there, but there are always adolescents who continue working on their initiative to make a real change. In the past years, students have made big changes in their municipalities, neighbourhoods and schools!

Tienskip is an organisation that is completely run by young people and consists of a large number (250+) young volunteers, who help during the Tienskipdays. Additionally, Tienskip organises guest lectures from national and international speakers for the volunteers who are part of the innovation team. This team is active for one study year and meets once a month to work on an innovative project together, as well as learn from the guest speakers.

By being active in Tienskip, you get to implement practical solutions, which can be a great addition to your academic work. Also, Tienskip is a network with lots of fun events and connections that might help you during and after your studies in Leeuwarden. Do you want to come by and join our network?
